Device Modeling Methods for Spectral Reproduction Systems
Dr. Di-Yuan Tzeng

This tutorial topic will address on introductions of the techniques of analytical and statistical modeling methods for the multi-spectral color reproduction systems. The content will span the modeling methods for multi-channel acquisitions and multi-primary printing processes to construct an end-to-end imaging device which is capable of minimizing metamerism between the original and reproduction. The list of the content is shown at below:

  1. Introduction
  Problem definitions Viable Solutions
  2. Spectral Acquisition (camera modeling)
  Multi-channel camera capture
  3. Spectral Output systems
(halftone and continuous tone printer modeling)
Neugebauer
Kubelka-Munk
  4. Mathematical and Statistical Modeling for Spectral Imaging
  PCA
Spectral encoding using metameric black
